About

So you’ve made it to my website! You’re probably wondering what this site is all about. Well, for starters, it has absolutely nothing to do with abortion or really any political issues. ProatLife is just a blog.

I started this blog as a freshman in college because I felt like I knew relatively little about some things I do every day. Basically, my aim with all of my posts is to identify an area that can be improved upon in a serious way in most people’s lives. Usually, my inspiration comes from areas I myself have little knowledge of.

In this sense, ProatLife is a self-help blog, but you might not think of it that way from the form of my posts. I try to do extensive research before I make my posts public, so I’m hoping my articles read more like mini research papers than simply the opinionated, fluffy kind of traditional self-improvement articles that are so abundant (and yet so useless) other places online.

My basic approach to writing an article starts with a self-improvement idea. I dig around a little on the internet to find out if my idea is worth pursuing and if it’s generally applicable to most people. If that works out, I try to gather up as much useful information and compress it into a manageable article. The article’s footer contains “Further Reading,” where I put websites that I feel like could complement my post if a reader wanted more information, and “References,” which contain citations and links to the websites upon which I base my original article on, but are not necessarily very readable or enjoyable. Overall, I want my completed work to be readable, concise, and helpful.

You might be thinking to yourself, “Wait, an undergraduate college student is trying to tell me how I should run my life? How is he more qualified than I am?” Well, the truth is, I’m not. What I try to do with my posts is come up with a comprehensive answer to a possible problem in my life. I go through a lot of research and try to make what I publish coherent and exhaustive.

I guess what I’m saying is that this is simply a blog. I’m just another unpaid blogger.
